Robin R. Fisher is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer (CMKBD), Certified Living in Place Professional (CLIPPS) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). She is a speaker and educator with the National Kitchen and Bath Association, and her award-winning designs have been featured in multiple local, national trade and consumer magazines.

In Robin’s 30 plus years in the industry, she has been a founding partner of both a Portland design/build remodeling firm and an independent residential design firm. Her true love is creating designs that fit the way you live today tomorrow and lives by the mantra that “bad design should be illegal.”

A passion and dedication to the industry has lead Robin to dedicate much of her time to educating current and future designers. As an advocate of sustainable design, Robin has co-authored “Sustainable Design for the Kitchen and Bath Designer”, a textbook which is an integral part of the Professional Resource Library for the NKBA.

In 2017 she was selected as a TOP 50 INNOVATOR by KBDN in their inaugural class.

She currently sits on the NKBA committee which is charged with updating the NKBA Kitchen and Bath Guidelines.

Since 2003, Robin has taught the cornerstone classes of the kitchen and bath design certificate at Portland Community College. In addition teaching Kitchen & Bath Design 1 and 2, she also teaches Chief Architect and the Living in Place Studio courses.

Passionate about everything she does, Robin loves to cook and entertain, planning elaborate multi course meals for special occasions.

She is an avid cyclist, often riding her bike to work and doing multiple 100 mile rides each summer. Robin lives with her amazing 19 year old son, her patient husband, 1 cat and 2 dogs in Portland, Oregon.

Accomplishments & Recognition
Robin was named one of Kitchen & Bath Design News’ Top 50 Innovators in 2017. Her influence extends beyond her portfolio—she was also named the inaugural NKBA/KBIS Educator of the Year in 2025 in recognition of her leadership, mentorship, and excellence in teaching.

She currently serves as Chair of the Interior Design Department at Portland Community College, where she has been a respected faculty member since 2003.

Robin is the principal of Robin Rigby Fisher Design, based in Portland, Oregon. From her studio on SE Laurel Street, she serves clients across the metro area with custom kitchen, bath, and whole-home designs that emphasize functionality, green living, and universal access.

Prior to launching her current practice, Robin was a founding partner of a successful design–build firm. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience, she now balances client work with educating the next generation of designers and offering continuing education for professionals through workshops and industry organizations.
