Artlantis R & Instruction Guide

Artlantis R 1-Seat License (Download)

Artlantis R is the ideal tool to work with Chief to quickly and easily create high resolution still renderings.  It offers an easy to use interface and outstanding speed.  New features include radiosity for incredible lighting realism, 3D objects and vegetation with easy drag and drop placement, and much more.  This software is available as a download.

Connectivity
Artlantis R combines the most advanced and efficient functions for realistic simulation of hardware and lighting needed for any 3 dimensional project. Communicating directly with leading CAD Architecture software (such as Chief Architect, ArchiCAD, VectorWorks, SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc.), Artlantis R has the advantage of import functions for the main CAD formats: DXF, DWG, 3DS, etc.

Shaders
You can dress each object, surface and detail of a 3D scene with its own material (called a shader) by simply dragging and dropping from a catalog that you create and populate however you like. Artlantis includes 200 default shaders. There are also collections of optional additional shaders available, so you can expand the standard library whenever you wish.

Heliodons & Lights
Lighting highlights the objects, just like in the real world. From the low-key lighting of dawn to the glare of midday, from the solitude of a crypt to the backlighting of a bay, Artlantis R has all of the light sources (spotlight, bulb, sun, sky) and aerial effects (atmospheres, radiosity, turbulence, diffraction, halo) needed to compute the most realistic lighting models.

Objects
Artlantis provides a superb object manager that makes it easier to expand a scene layout and make it even more realistic. Whether you're working with vegetation, people, furniture or simple decorative knickknacks, you can manipulate all of these either in 3D or 2D, and make graphic control of these objects dependent on scene-specific factors (such as hierarchy, catchpoint, season). This makes scene layout easier than ever. Artlantis includes 200 default 3D objects and 100 default billboard (flat picture) objects. There are also collections of optional additional objects & silhouettes available, so you can expand the standard library whenever you wish.

Perspectives & Projected Views
Each projected view, clipping and perspective can be stored independently and recalled from the user-defined list at any time. Every view that is recalled in this manner will be recalculated with all of the parameters that make up its environment (geographical position, camera placement and focal distance, light sources, date and time, foreground and background, etc.) The Batch Render function can be used to calculate these views at any time, on final rendering, with a single mouse click.

Technologies
Artlantis R has exceptional conditions that define and are essential for creative and efficient use, display speed, spatial positioning and the most advanced computation performance. The RayBooster raytracing calculator and HPC SAís FastRadiosity engine bring speed and realism to the most sophisticated scenes, such as by reducing light reflection. With the projected view placement interface, it allows the user to completely control positions in three dimensions (light sources, cameras, objects, etc.). Taking advantage of the latest, most advanced technologies, such as multiprocessor management or OpenGL navigation, Artlantis R brings revolutionary new concepts to the field of imaging.

Artlantis R & Studio: The Missing Book

A must-have addition to Artlantis! "The Missing Book" is an in-depth and useful guide for Artlantis beginners, but it is also a tremendous reference for experts.

Besides the explanation of the individual program commands and tools, it also delves into the purpose of each function through practical use, and provides recommendations on how to maximize program implementation, as well as methods of photorealistic rendering techniques such as lighting, textures and animations. "The Missing Book" provides a number of tips and tricks for final quality optimization.

This handbook is the result of years of experience from the authors -- the architects Roberta Cecchi, Roberto Corona, Daniele Raggi and Pietro Spampatti, trained by their daily use of the program at a professional level and in their share of knowledge as official Abvent beta-testers. This team sprang from a users group actively participating in the ArchiRADAR forums, where experience and professionnal skills are shared and where each member suggests, corrects or teaches in an incredible spirit of cooperation.

"The Missing Book" is the perfect companion for architects, interior designers, landscape designers, town planners or students venturing into the world of Artlantis.

Topics:
- Ready to go: user interface, commands and tools
- Step-by-step tutorial
- How to carry out photo renderings
- Advanced use of shaders, billboards, materials
- Artlantis Studio: animations from A to Z
- Tips and tricks to achieve the best results

This guide is an invaluable addition to Artlantis.
